The Ethiopian Athlet Mare Dibaba earn silver medal for Ethiopia in Women’s Marathon in Rio -Brazil.
Mare finished the race third at 2:24:30 . Dibaba’s medal is the second for Ethiopia after the stunning victory by Almaz Ayana in the women’s 10,000.
Kenyan Jumima Sumogong finished the race first while Eunice JIrwa of Bahrain won the second place .
Ethiopia’s Tirfi Tsegaye came 4th while her compatriot ,Tigist Tufa dropped out of the race because of injury.
While her sister brought silver for Ethiopia, Genzebe Dibaba qualified for the 1500 M final .
Ethiopians in Toronto expressed their love to the Ethiopian origin Canadian R&B star Abel Tesfaye, better known as The weeknd.
In an interview with ethiofidel.com, Ethiopians in Toronto convey their pride in Abel’s achievement. For some, he is an inspiration to their passion. “I am also a singer and The Weeknd is my role model” says Eyerusalem Anteneh who dreams big to one day perform alongside The Weeknd.

Two plays written by artists Abebayehu Tadesse and Tewodros Legesse were staged at the Toronto Liutenian hall.
The satiric play “facebook ” authored by Artist Tewodros was about the effects of facebook in the modern age . Abebayehu Tadese’s socially critical satire “ye mistoche baloch” theater found a family in a complicated situation . The verses were both humorous and got several aha moments from the crowd.
