(Reuters) – Ethiopian Airlines is in preliminary talks with Boeing (BA.N) that could lead to an order for 10 of the U.S. planemaker’s latest model, the 777X, the airline’s chief executive said.
“When the 777X comes, as soon as we can get the (production) slots we will be there,” Tewolde Gebremariam told Reuters in a telephone interview.

Boeing customer Ethiopian Airlines took a brand-new 737-300ER home with something extra Friday: 7,300 pounds of humanitarian supplies for an Ethiopian hospital and school.
The Jan. 24 flight from Everett is one of 19 such humanitarian deliveries to Ethiopia. The carrier has transported about 150,000 pounds of supplies. Continue reading
Ethiopian Airlines is to deploy a Boeing 787 Dreamliner on a new route to China. The African carrier will operate the daily Addis Ababa to Shanghai Pu Dong service from March 29. Outbound flight ET684 will depart Addis Ababa at 2330 and arrive at Shanghai at 1515 the following day, while return service ET685 will leave Shanghai at 0035 and land at Addis Ababa at 0655.
