Scholars In Toronto Reflected on Medieval Ethiopia

A two days  colloquium at the University of Toronto’s Medieval studies explored the medieval era in  Ethiopia .

Scholars touched upon  Ethiopia’s culture history, language and artefacts during the medieval era .

Dr. Gelila Tilahun, an IT professional who created a software to preserve medieval  artefacts for the University of Toronto told ethiofidel.com that the conference showed  Ethiopia’s contribution to the history of the medieval era .

The medivieal Ethiopia  conference that brought several scholars could give more prominence to the newly initiated Ethiopian studies at the University of Toronto Tilahun remarked .

A microfilm archives of Ethiopia’s medieval era  was screened at the occasion .

Upon the establishment of Ethiopian studies at the University of Toronto, a course in Geez,  ancient Ethiopian  language is being offered .

The Ethiopian origin Canadian  grammy winner artist Abel Tesfaye, A.K.A The Weeknd donated 50,000 for the kick start of Ethiopian studies at the Univeraity of Toronto
