The Canadian City Fort McMurray Left Empty After A Catastrophic Wild Fire

 Wild Fire engulfs the city of Fort McMurray in the province of Alberta. The city and the rest of the Alberta province is now under a state of emergency .

The wild fire is spreading in to nearby cities forcing hundreds of thousands of people evacuate their residences.

More than 1,600 homes have been destroyed in the wildfire that covers more than 10,000 hectares of land. No fatalities have been reported so far.

Promising the Federal help is on the way, Prime Minister Harper said Canada stands with Fort McMurray

Our thoughts are with you, our prayers are with you. As prime minister, I want you to know that our government and all Canadians will stand by you and support you now and when it is time to rebuild.” Says Trudeau.

 A good number of Ethiopians live in this part of Canada working on various occupations. Various social media users have been expressing their support to those affected by the fire. Families affected and evacuated can call The Red Cross at 1-800-350-6070 and call

1-800-418-1111, to donate for the effort as well as text REDCROSS to 30333 to make a $5 donation.

The Alberta government announced that it will match any donation.
