People to People Canada To Hold its Annual Fundraising Dinner

Nini Legesse Announced as Keynote Speaker at People to People’s 16th Annual Gala that celebrates  learning  Saturday, 28th November, 2015

 People to People Aid Organization, Canada (P2P) a not-for-profit organization that provides life sustaining support to HIV/AIDS orphans in Ethiopia is thrilled to announce that the keynote speaker for its 16thAnnual Fundraising Dinner and Silent Auction will be Nini Legesse.

Nini Legesse, is the president and founding member of Wegene Ethiopian Foundation, a dynamic not-for-profit organization that works tirelessly to end the cycle of poverty in Ethiopia through a number of education and income-generating initiatives. Legesse, who was one of fourteen community leaders from the East African Diaspora to be honored at the White House as a “Champion of Change” will drive engagement and inspiration amongst P2P’s guests, with her insightful message of hope and responsibility. 

“Legesse will add an entirely new dimension to our Annual Fundraising Dinner & Silent Auction,” says Teferi Negussie, the Chair of P2P’s Board of Directors. “The theme of the evening for this year’s event is Educate A Child, Change A Life. Through education, we will elevate the voices of the vulnerable, and raise awareness and funds to bring shelter, health-care, and improved learning to orphaned children in Ethiopia.”

Over 200 guests are expected at the event which takes place on Saturday, 28th November at Daniels Spectrum. Masters of Ceremonies includeBetty Yibrehu, a fourth year student at the University of Toronto, who graduates this year with a Bachelor of Science in Global Health, and Nebeyu Kidane, a Refugee Resettlement Coordinator at Matthew House Reception Shelter.
The evening includes cocktails, dinner, a silent auction of donated luxury items, and entertainment including a stunning dance performance by the acclaimed Coco Framboise. Tickets to the Gala are $100 (regular price) and $65 for students. Net proceeds from the event go directly to the Orphan Sponsorship Program, where every single dollar raised supports children in need, with zero overhead.
