Toronto police chief Mark Saunders has been recognized by the black community in Toronto.
At a community reception held at the Jamaican Canadian Association (JCA), The Toronto police chief Mark Saunders was praised as a genuine leader .
Mayor of Toronto, John Tory said Mark is the right choice for the post having all the qualities needed for the job .\
A/Deputy chief Jim Ramer and other speakers also echoed the mayor in recognizing the efforts of the police chief.
Flanked by his wife and son at the event , Toronto police chief Mark Saunders said he needed the support of the community in his effort t bring a change in the police force .
The event was organized by Jamaican Canadian Association, Black Business and Professionals Association , The Ontario Black History Society and A-Supreme Foundation .
Mark Saunders is the first black police chief in Toronto .
