A 3 years old boy died in Toronto after he left his parent’s apartment at night and  stayed out in the cold

According to Toronto police the 3 years old Elijah Marsh left the apartment building at 4 am and wondered in the cold for six hours.

When his parents called the police, the search had begun. Finally it was two volunteer searchers that found the boy in the back yard of a home with no vital signs . The child died later at the hospital .

Security camera showed the boy leaving the building at around 4 AM .  The freezing temperature was –19 C  at that time and the 3 years old Elijah only had a t-shirt , a boot and diaper on.

Toronto has since been griped by grief. The mayor of Toronto, John Tory and police Chief Bill Blair sent  condolences to the family followed by an outpouring messages from all over Canada.

The Memorial pile of flowers and teddy bear for Elijah is growing tall outside of the apartment  on Bathrust and Neptune Drive apartment.

A Toronto man, Justin Kozuch launched an online campaign to cover the cost of Elijah’s funeral. The campaign ( https://www.tilt.com/campaigns/help-cover-the-costs-of-elijah-marchs-funeral/description) so far raised more than

$ 65,000 in one day .
